Teacher Training
Have you thought about becoming a primary school teacher?
Our school works in partnership with Essex and Thames SCITT offering high quality teacher training in primary education. The SCITT has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted. The courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the award of a PGCE in Primary Education with 60 credits towards a masters degree. At Powers Hall Academy, we often employ some of these new teachers at the school, or recommend them to other schools within our Multi Academy Trust.
Essex and Thames SCITT has been involved with training the very best primary school teachers for Essex primary schools for over 25 years. The training is predominantly school-based, with 120 days spent in the classroom and around 70 days at centre-based training in Wickford or here at the school. This provides trainees with extensive knowledge of the curriculum and of educational pedagogy.
The courses start in late August and finish in July.
With a truly excellent reputation for teacher training, our school with its SCITT partner, offers you a variety of routes into teaching in Essex. Full details of the courses on offer and further information can be found on the SCITT website:
