Children can arrive at school as from 8.35am, and should be in school and ready to start learning at 8.45am. 8.45am will be the official start of the school day.

To help with this, classrooms and doors will be open as from 8.35am.

Registers are taken at 8.45am children will receive a late mark ‘L’ if they are not in by that time 

Pupils arriving after 8:45am should report to the school office as they will be required to sign in and provide a reason for the lateness. Gates will be locked shortly after 8.45am.

Any child arriving between 8:50 and 9:00am will be marked as a ‘U’ code, but this will not count as a present mark and mean they will have an unauthorised absence.  

End of the School Day: All year groups finish at 3.20pm. This is the official end of the compulsory school day. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be released from their classroom’s external doors. 

Our school opening hours will be 8.45am until 3.20pm, which add up to a total time of 32 hrs 55mins in a typical week.

Although routines do vary from time to time and from class to class, the following table gives an example of a typical day for a pupil at Witham Oaks Academy. Each session will be broken down into different learning experiences and activities.
