How can we give children the confidence and ability they need to succeed in a world that revolves around technology? 

At Witham Oaks Academy, we deliver a rich and detailed sequential curriculum for ICT that’s all about challenging children and encouraging them to work independently. This builds in 'skills' lessons, of course, that teach children how to use hardware and software, but we also use ICT capabilities to support teaching across the curriculum, particularly in English, Maths and Art.

Children use IT as they would any tools such as a pencil or pen – it is not in addition to what we do, rather an extension. We have mapped the best platforms and apps for children to work with, and added a clearly defined e-safety strand that meets government requirements and keeps pace with the progression of learning at every stage.
